During my MBA internship at Andes Edge Consulting in Costa Rica, I worked on the development of a fintech platform intended to make payments more accessible in Latin America, including for people without access to digital banking apps.
The project looked at markets such as Honduras, Colombia and El Salvador.
What I worked on
I took part in meetings and contributed ideas. I researched currency and banking regulation, looked at competitors and analysed the populations the platform could potentially reach. My work went into Excel analysis and PowerPoint materials.
A different pace of delivery
Delivery moved much faster than I was used to. The clients had different concerns and priorities, and the type of client and market were different too.
I worked with a US manager in a Latin American market, bringing my experience from Europe. Having those three perspectives working together was an important part of the experience for me.
Having a voice in the team
Something that mattered to me was how seriously my ideas were taken. Several things I proposed were put into practice. I brought another point of view and a lot of enthusiasm, and I felt that my contribution was taken into account.
